What you Need to Know About COVID-19 to Protect Yourself and Your Family

The risk of contracting the flu is higher than that for coronavirus.
-
The most common symptoms are fever, cough and trouble breathing.
-
Wash your hands often, or clean with hand sanitizer.
-
Stay at home and keep away from public places.
-
If you are experiencing symptoms, stay at home and call our Doctor Line first.
Please remember the Governors of California and Baja California, Gavin Newsom and Jaime Bonilla, have issued Stay-At-Home Orders and Curfew Restrictions to help us combat the outbreak.

Wash hands often with soap & water or clean with hand sanitizer that is at least 60% alcohol.

Options to Access Medical Services
Doctor Line
Our Doctor Line offers a link to your doctor's office from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and can assist you with the following:

Deciding between your primary care physician or an urgent care clinic.

Telephone consultation.

Follow up medical questions from a previous appointment.

Questions about a current treatment.
-
Prescription and/or prescription refill requests.
Telemedicine Consultations
MediExcel’s telemedicine consultation connects you with a Physician or Clinician, who consults with patients via telephone or HIPAA compliant video-conferencing tools. They will provide you with the care you need, set-up an in-person appointment, or refer you to the most appropriate care point. Please follow the steps below to schedule your telemedicine consultation:

Call the Member Line and select option 3.

Confirm your member ID number and explain your medical needs to the representative.

Choose a date and time.
-
Access the information sent to you via e-mail to connect with your physician.
Excel Hospital
Excel Hospital has deployed a respiratory triage area where all arriving patients are being screened for symptoms and recent travel to affected areas. Remember, if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, call before seeking in-person care.

Express Pharmacy at Excel Hospital
MediExcel Members with current medications can arrange for curb-side pick-up of their prescription or refill at Excel Hospital Pharmacy.

Excel Hospital has rapidly expanded its telehealth services as part of its continuing efforts to provide high quality care in a safe and convenient way. Excel has deployed on-site telemedicine consultations in designated tents on the ground floor offering express consultations.

Temporary Border Travel Restrictions
The U.S. and Mexico announced that its partial closure of the southern border for all vehicle and pedestrian non-essential travel will continue until October 21st, 2021, in an effort to contain the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
Essential travel will be allowed for both medical treatment and work in Mexico and the U.S.
